Senate Judiciary vote on Kavanaugh set for September 20, pro-abortion Democrats continue to “slime” Judge Kavanaugh

That didn’t take long. Yesterday we wrote about the sense that the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court was close to assured. But it was noted that while he ought to be the next Supreme Court justice replacing Anthony Kennedy and we trust will be, there was (and is) plenty of time for pro-abortion Democrats to attempt to smear Judge Kavanaugh.

Sure enough a “secret letter” has mysteriously appeared, even though, according to the New York Times, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Ca.) apparently had the letter in hand last summer. The point, of course, of letting news leak that the letter had been referred to the Department of Justice is, at a minimum, to attempt to delegitimate Judge Kavanaugh, at “best” to delay his confirmation indefinitely.

As it happens yesterday pro-life Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) said, “By trying to slime Judge Kavanaugh, the Democrats are only underscoring one of his most impressive skills: His widely acclaimed talent for thinking through all parties’ perspectives and engaging fairly with the full range of views regardless of his personal beliefs,” according to the Washington Examiner.

This morning pro-life Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said the committee will meet Thursday, Sept. 20, with the vote on reporting the Kavanaugh nomination set for that afternoon.
